Founder & CEO

Wilson Hago is the founder and CEO here at Hago Energetics. With more than 20 years of experience as a scientist helping humanity adapt to global warming. His mission is to contribute to reversing global warming via implementation of carbon negative and/or carbon dioxide removal technologies.

He has a background in physics and physical chemistry graduating from Brown University and Harvard with a Ph. D in Physical Chemistry.

In his words “We need to urgently incorporate negative emissions technologies into our world. We are presently working on developing green hydrogen and carbon capture and utilization technologies.”

Cynthia Saenz

VP of Strategy

Cynthia Saenz is the Co founder and Vp of Strategy at Hago Energetics she is a graduate of Brown University and UCLA. 

Here at Hago she is Developing relationships and promoting our sustainability goals by implementation of our innovative carbon negative technologies, including production of green hydrogen and biochar from renewable sources and waste products. 

Focus on justice, equity, diversity, inclusion to create positive impacts in all we do.

Thor Baiely

Biomass Logistics Manager

Thor Baiely is our Biomass Logistics Manager here at Hago Energetics, with his 35 years of diverse experience in green technologies and biomass energy contracts. Blending vision, leadership and technical knowledge he has successfully initiated several companies and non profit organizations and coops to assist small businesses.

He has developed strong business relationships in the Northern California renewable energy arena, including private and government sectors; participated in numerous renewable energy and agricultural trade shows, conferences, public forums and has served as a board member for various energy companies.

He also participates as speaker and panelist for biomass conversion, healthy soils and renewable CHP forums / conferences throughout California. 

Randall Hatfield

VP of Engineering

Randall Hatfield is our VP of Engineering here at Hago Energetics, with over 20 years of experience in the field he bring expertise and innovation to our team. He is a graduate of Norther Arizona University with a major in Physics and Chemistry.

Along with Wilson Hago our CEO, they successfully generated a complex of sugars without using any biological systems from CO2 and H2O. This technology may potentially feed the future inhabitants of Mars without using photosynthesis and won them the won the NASA’s CO2 Conversion Challenge. (www.co2conversionchallenge.org)

Tunde Giwa

Operations Manager

Tunde Ginwa brings over 15 years of experience in his field as Operations Manager here at Hago Energetics.

As a graduate from California State Polytechnic University and Orange Coast College, his experiences apart from my educational studies in Agriculture has been largely from 15 years; in attending World Ag Expo in Tulare California, in which in the last three years he has facilitated and coordinated delegates to the expo to participate in conferences and trade shows. 

As a member of his community garden, Las Flores Community Garden he has hands-on experience in tending and growing his own vegetables.

 

Stephen Markscheid

Finance Advisor

Corporate finance professional with 30+ years experience in the US, Asia and Europe, specializing in M&A, strategic investments, joint ventures and new business development across industries in emerging markets. Successful execution across diverse industries including healthcare, technology, banking, and finance. Multi-cultural and multi-lingual. US citizen, with prior experience of working and living in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and London. Fluent in written and spoken English, Mandarin Chinese as well as conversational Japanese and French.

John P. O'Connell

Chemical Engineer Advisor

John P. O’Connell, PhD is Professor Emeritus at the Univ. of Virginia and is currently a Research Scholar in Residence at the California Polytechnic State Univ. in San Luis Obispo, CA. As a faculty member for 47 years at the Univ. of Florida and the Univ. of Virginia, his research and teaching focused on thermodynamics, properties modeling, and molecular theory for chemical process design and simulation. O’Connell coauthored six books, including: 

Computer Calculations for Multicomponent Vapor-Liquid and Liquid-Liquid Equilibria; Properties of Gases and Liquids, 5th Ed.; Thermodynamics: Fundamentals for Applications; and The PPEPPD Conferences 1977–2013.

He earned a BA from Pomona College, a BS and an SM from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD from Univ. of California, Berkeley. He was Chair of the AIChE Fellows from 2004 to 2014 and served on the AIChE Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017.

Victoria Gastelum

Executive Assistant + Graphic Designer

Victoria Gastelum is our Executive Assistant and Graphic Designer at Hago, she has over 11 years in the art industry and 5 years of experience as an assistant. 

She enjoys every aspect of design, and has been blessed to work on a variety of projects that have enabled her to grow and refine my craft. However, her biggest passion is creating logos and branding for businesses. She has grown to discover that creativity and communication combined deliver the best design, something that matters & tells a story. 

Outside of work, you’ll find her with her husband outdoors playing with their rescue chihuahua pup, Maple, they love going for walks and hikes.

Wookie Hago

Chief Mascot Officer

Wookie Hago is our Chief Mascot Officer with just over 3 years of experience he brings his expertise to Hago Energetics. Wookie brings boundless enthusiasm, biodiversity and charm to the team. His fluffy coat and warm eyes make him the heart of the company, spreading joy and positive energy to boost team morale. 

Beyond his playful antics, Wookie actively participates in awareness campaigns and eco-friendly initiatives, serving as a four-legged ambassador for sustainability. His daily routine includes tail-wagging meetings, energizing walks, and impromptu play sessions. 

Wookie’s role extends beyond conventional responsibilities, symbolizing Hago Energetics’ commitment to a sustainable future. His pawprints pave the way for innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact. With a lovable Labradoodle leading the way, Hago Energetics strives to make a positive impact on the planet, one tail wag at a time.
